Terms & Conditions

Plastic and Glass Empire’s (PGE) terms and conditions are deemed to be accepted by site visitors and customers at our store. Customers or site visitors are requested to understand that decisions relating to matters covered herein will be applied accordingly whether or not there is agreement with these T&Cs.  

We could from time to time revise these T&Cs and  therefore should this be of interest or possibly impact you, we recommend that you visit these occasionally. 

 

Website content

The content either through text or images presented on the Website is made available solely for general information purposes and may be different on the shelves at the store. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of this content.

We do update the Website occasionally, however content is not guaranteed to be complete or up to date.  We publish such material under no obligation except for information purposes only. We reserve the right to alter any content at any stage with or without notice.

 

Warranties Disclaimer

We have made every effort to display the Products on the Website as accurately as possible, including

the images that represent a visual depiction of the Product, features and descriptions that pertain to the Product.

The actual products on the shelf may be subject to variations in appearance, as product packaging may differ over time. It remains the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the product bought is correct.  The Product description and/or model number will always overrule any related images when resolving a dispute about a product.

As the actual colours you see will depend on your computer’s monitor, PGE cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will be accurate.

Regarding our website, we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programmes, data or other proprietary material due to your use of the website or any services or items obtained through the Website or to your downloading of any material posted on it. The Website, its content and any services or items obtained through the Website are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Neither PGE nor any person associated with PGE makes any warranty or representation with respect to the completeness, security, reliability, quality, accuracy or availability of the Website.

PGE hereby disclaims all warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied, statutory or otherwise, including but not limited to any warranties of merchantability, non-infringement and fitness for particular purpose.

The foregoing does not affect any warranties which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Any defective parts are returned to the store at the Purchaser’s expense.  PGE’s guarantee shall be limited to the guarantee,  if any, which we may have received from the supplier of products and therefore  the liability in terms of such guarantee shall be no greater than the suppliers liability.

PGE shall be under no liability, whether in contract, delict or otherwise in respect of defects in goods sold, or for any injury, damage or loss resulting from such defect.

 

Product Availability

PGE cannot guarantee availability of stock but will endeavour to source stock where possible.   

The prices include Value-Added Tax. Special promotions may be subject to certain conditions, including stock availability and limited-offer stipulations.

 

Collection of Cookies

By using this site, you agree to PGE’s Cookies usage. A cookie is a piece of information that is deposited on your computer’s hard drive by your web browser when you use PGE’s computer server. The cookies enable us to recognise you and give us information about your previous visits. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but usually you can alter your settings to prevent automatic acceptance. If you choose not to accept cookies, this may disable some of the features of PGE’s Website. The information collected is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It does not contain your name, address, telephone number or email address.

 

Competitions

• All competition decisions are final and will not be entered into further discussions once winners have been announced
• Winners will be announced and will have a certain period to claim their prize, after which a further period will be communicated before an alternative winner will be selected

 

Own Courier Collection

Upon booking your courier to collect order(s) please advise us of the Courier Company Name with the Copy of the On-Line Waybill booking.

 

Orders will NOT be released to Couriers Companies arriving without:

• Payment reflecting correctly in our account.
• Couriers are to supply a copy of the Completed waybill (not a blank waybill for us to complete)

Return and Refund Policy

We offer refund and/or exchange within the first 7 days of your purchase, if 7 days have passed since your purchase, you will not be entitled a refund and/or exchange of any kind unless by prior arrangement.

The following conditions need to be met:

• Product(s) is/are unused, undamaged, in the same condition received
• Receipt to be accompanied with the returned item(s)

All bulk buying returns will attract a 10% surcharge to cater for banking and administration costs.

 

Quotations

• All quotations are done from Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 17.00pm
• Buy Requesting a Quote from PGE, you agree that we can market other specials to you via email or Whatsapp
• Quotations are done for a reasonable amount of products (less than 20)
  • We are not providing quotes online for tenders, these requests need to come to the store where an assistant will take you through to the products you require where you can photograph and/or write down the price. Should a formal quote be requested, we will charge a fee of R300.00 which is refundable upon the purchase of any of the products quoted.   

Quotation Validity

Written quotations will be held valid for a maximum of 7 (seven) days unless otherwise stipulated by PGE.

 

Tender Quotations

We require the following documentation to process a Bulk or Tender Quotation:

Certified copy of One Director’s ID or passport

Proof of South African address

Copy of Registration document (CIPC) of the business making the purchase

Copy of the vat registration number linked to the above business

An EFT payment of R300.00 into our bank account

 

Please note that we do not complete any forms for this process or provide any information about our business, suppliers, or products.

 

As many tenders provide specifications about the products (colours, sizes, dimensions, etc.), you are required to come to the store, select the products required and have these brought to a shop assistant so that the product codes are taken multiplied by the quantity to quote on. This will then be sent to our office where a quotation will be generated and submitted within 48 hours excluding weekends or holidays. 

Donations & Sponsorships

Owing to the high number of funding requests we receive, please familiarise yourself with the following guidelines and exclusions prior to requesting a donation or sponsorship.

Understand our process

All requests must be emailed to info@plasticandglass.co.za titled ‘Donation/ Sponsorship Request’. All proposals that meet our guidelines and further our strategic goals and objectives may be considered for funding. Due to the high volume of requests received, we are unable to take telephonic requests, or requests that are provided in person to our store staff. We are also unable to confirm the status of requests or receipt of requests via telephone – all follow-ups need to be done via email.  

Submitting a request does not guarantee funding; even though we would love to, we are not able to respond positively to all aligned requests for funding.  Requests must be submitted at least 3 months prior to the event. All received requests will be reviewed and considered and we endeavour to respond back within one month should your application be successful.

All approved requests will require confirmation on an official letterhead of the represented organisation. Organisations can be assisted only once per year.

Take note of our exclusions

We wish we could support all the worthy projects that submit requests for assistance, however, there are several types of requests that we are unable to accommodate. They include:

• Requests made solely to benefit one person or family
• Sporting events and sport teams’ apparel, equipment, buildings and training
• Tickets for contests, raffles, events or other activities with prizes (which may include school concerts, golf days, etc.)
• Advertising, film or video projects
• Contests and pageants
• Research projects and/or study tours
• Conferences and exhibitions that are not related to our business
• Political and religious organisations as direct beneficiaries
• Family or individual emergency relief
• Organisations or programmes that do not benefit the communities within which we service
• Funding required for operational costs and salaries
• Funding where less than 80% of the profits gathered is given to the intended charity or cause

Please have the following documents and information on hand:

• Copy of your public benefit organisation (PBO) certificate from SARS (if applicable)
• Copy of your non-profit organisation (NPO) Certificate from the Department of Social Development (if you are a registered NPO)
• Details of the support for which you are applying
• Two references’ details who can be contacted regarding your organisation’s work

Pensioners Discount 

1. Who Qualifies for a Pensioners Discount:
   1. If you are over the age of 60 (sixty) years and can verify this on request you will qualify for the Pensioners Discount. 
   2. You may be required to present a valid form of Identify (ID or Drivers License) to Cashier staff in order to confirm that you are over the age of 60 (sixty). 
2. Discount Amount:
   1. The Pensioners Discount amount shall be 10% (ten percent) which shall be applied at the cashier on payment. 
   2. The Pensioners Discount is only redeemable on a Wednesday and will not apply to Exempt Products and Specials already running. 
   3. If you fail to request discount from the cashier at the time of checkout/ payment then you will forfeit your Pensioners Discount and you cannot redeem this at a later date. 
   4. The Pensioners Discount is not transferrable and may not be exchanged for cash or any other items.
   5. The value of the discount, jointly and severally, includes VAT.
3. Disqualification:
   1. If you fail to comply with any of these conditions or the terms of acceptance of the Pensioners Discount, you will be disqualified and will forfeit the Pensioners Discount. 
   2. The Pensioners Discount is only valid for a natural person and no juristic person (including companies, close corporations, trusts and/or joint ventures) shall be entitled to a Pensioners Discount.
   3. This discount does not apply for Business or bulk buying.
   4. You may not claim the Pensioners Discount together with any other discount which P&G Empire may offer from time to time – only one discount may be utilised per purchase. 
   5. The Pensioners Discount may only be utilised by the individual who qualifies for the Pensioners Discount. Should P&G Empire, in its sole discretion, determine that the Pensioners Discount may be/was applied to a third party and/or juristic person, then P&G Empire may, in its sole discretion, refuse to grant you the Pensioners Discount and/or claim the cost of the discount from you. You are therefore urged to ensure that you utilise the Pensioner’s Discount as intended as you may qualify for same and ensure that you do not allow any third party to use the Pensioner’s Discount in your name.
   6. P&G Empire reserves the right to refuse to grant any person the Pensioners Discount in the event that P&G Empire, in its sole discretion, determines that you have not complied with all terms and conditions. 
4. Gesture of Goodwill:
   1. Should you qualify for a Pensioners Discount then you agree that P&G Empire is providing you with the Pensioners Discount at P&G Empire’s sole and entire discretion and as a gesture of goodwill. P&G Empire shall not be liable for any loss and/or damage that you may suffer in the event that P&G Empire is unable to and/or fails to process any Pensioners Discount. 
   2. P&G Empire shall not be liable for:
      1. technical malfunction which may result in you being unable to a claim a discount;
      2. system(s) errors which do not allow P&G Empire to process the Discounts;
      3. lost or delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, line failure or malfunction of any telephone network or computer equipment or software. 
   3. Protection of Personal Information:
      1. You consent to the collection, processing and further processing of your personal information (including personal information contained in electronic communications) by P&G Empire for the purposes of granting the Pensioners Discount to you. It is recorded that P&G Empire will require your personal information to be presented in order to receive the Pensioners Discount.
      2. P&G Empire shall process any and all Personal Information collected in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.

   5. Disputes:

   1. Should any dispute arise in relation to these Terms and Conditions, P&G Empire’s decision shall be final and binding and no additional correspondence shall be entered into by P&G Empire.
